The Barça Academy Hungary summer camp season at Lake Balaton has officially come to an end, bringing together a more diverse and international community than ever before. In Balatonszemes and Balatonfüred, nearly 300 children had the opportunity to experience the unique football philosophy of FC Barcelona. Alongside the Hungarian participants, young players also arrived from several European countries, as well as from Israel and China.
This summer once again proved that the FC Barcelona experience knows no borders. Barça Academy Hungary’s camps at Lake Balaton have become a truly international meeting point, where children from different countries were united by a common language: football, team spirit, and a shared passion for Barça.
On the shores of Lake Balaton, participants had the opportunity to experience everything the world of Barça represents: the joy of playing, FC Barcelona’s football philosophy, continuous development, new friendships, and unforgettable moments that will make their days at the camp memorable for years to come.
8 Countries, Nearly 300 Children, One Shared Passion
Over the past few weeks, Barça Academy Hungary’s summer camps brought the football pitches at Lake Balaton to life on four occasions. On both the southern and northern shores, in Balatonszemes and Balatonfüred, nearly 300 children took part in the programs.
Alongside the young Hungarian players, participants also came from Austria, Slovenia, Cameroon, Israel, China, Slovakia, and Bulgaria. Thanks to this diversity, the camps became special not only as sporting events, but also as truly multicultural communities.
The children were able to learn from one another not only on the pitch: they formed new friendships, discovered the customs of other countries, and shared in the unique world of Barça Academy and FC Barcelona. Their shared love of the game, desire to improve, and passion for football created a bond that transcended all language and cultural differences.
The weeks spent at Lake Balaton once again showed that the FC Barcelona experience truly creates a community that transcends borders.
The Barça Philosophy on the Shores of Lake Balaton
During the training sessions at the camps, we followed the official FC Barcelona training methodology. We built on the same core principles that define Barça Academy Hungary’s year-round development program, in line with the philosophy applied at La Masia.
Alongside developing technical skills, we placed strong emphasis on understanding game situations, thinking quickly, making good decisions, and finding creative solutions. The goal was not only for the children to return home as better players, but also to play with greater confidence, awareness, and a stronger team-oriented mindset.
More Than Training – Memories for a Lifetime
Barça Academy Hungary’s camps at Lake Balaton have always offered much more than football. Off the pitch, quizzes, Spanish language sessions, group games, and a variety of other activities made the camp weeks both diverse and memorable.
These activities helped participants grow even closer to one another while discovering FC Barcelona’s culture in a fun and engaging way. The camp was therefore about much more than football—it was also about learning, community, and sharing unforgettable experiences together.
